The Most Jaw Dropping, Confounding, Mind boggling Lie in Mitt Romney’s Closing Speech

There has been a litany of lies offered to American voters by Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney, but one stands out among the others. With Congressman Paul Ryan as Romney’s chosen Vice Presidential pick, during Mitt’s closing speech, he said:

“You know that if the President is re-elected, he will still be unable to work with the people in Congress. He has ignored them, attacked them, blamed them. The debt ceiling will come up again, and shutdown and default will be threatened, chilling the economy. The President was right when he said he can’t change Washington from the inside. In this case, you can take him at his word.”

Let’s look at that.

Mitt’s first day in office includes 15 huge tasks, mostly undoing President Obama’s accomplishments — which will go over really well with Democrats.

Huffpo reports:

ENERGY
- Approve construction of the Keystone XL pipeline (and perhaps build it with his own bare hands)
- Sign an executive order boosting drilling

HEALTH CARE
- Sign an executive order that would pave the way to end Obamacare

IMMIGRATION
- Get started on a long-term plan to solve the problem of undocumented immigration
Drop the lawsuit against Arizona for its measure cracking down on undocumented immigration

INTERNATIONAL
- Sign an executive order sanctioning China for unfair trade practices
Reinstate the “Mexico City Policy,” which bans U.S. funds from going to international family planning organizations that provide abortions

ECONOMY
- Submit a jobs package to Congress containing five bills and demand that the legislature act on them in 30 days:

-Reduce the corporate income tax rate to 25 percent

-Reinstate the president’s Trade Promotion Authority to facilitate negotiation of new trade agreements

-Explore opening more land for drilling

-Look at taking federal programs and returning responsibility to the states

-Cut non-security discretionary spending in the federal budget by 5 percent

The words, “delusions of grandeur’ are running through my mind as I read the list.

A Bromance is Born: Romney said today, “Next to Ann, Paul Ryan is the best choice I ever made.”

Let’s look at that.

As reported here, Paul Ryan attended a meeting while our newly minted President was being inaugurated. The clandestine meeting with Republican leaders in attendance, was led by GOP Whip Eric Cantor in 2008. Paul Ryan, the ideological rock star of the right also attended — each swore to obstruct anything, everything the President tries to accomplish — in lockstep, partisan-style.

But, it’s Obama’s fault somehow.

Paul Ryan began his political career volunteering on the congressional campaign of the unwavering John Boehner.

Ryan’s plan is cold and heartless.  How does one compromise with someone so uncaring toward a major faction of the populace?

Down with Tyranny reports:

Father Stephen Umhoefer told the Center for Media and Democracy that he supports a role for religion in the public square, but that Ryan‘s austerity budget and proposed steep cuts in social programs are inconsistent with the Catholic teachings that Ryan cites to justify the policies. “If he is following his conscience, he is doing the morally correct thing. But he shouldn’t wrap himself in Catholic teaching because he is not using that [teaching] in what I would say is a balanced way,” said Umhoefer.

The Ryan budget, which passed the U.S. House of Representatives in 2012 in a partisan vote but died in the Senate, would slash taxes on the rich and on corporations, while implementing massive cuts in social safety net programs. It would take away health care from tens of millions of Americans by repealing the Affordable Care Act, cut Medicaid, transform Medicare into a voucher system, cut student loans, and end the Earned Income Tax Credit program for the working poor, while reversing Wall Street financial reforms and consumer protections.

(my bold)

Paul Ryan has not just ostracized the poor, but the female gender as well, and mocked us/them. Ryan is one of the most extreme Conservatives against women’s rights in Congress. Shorter version of Paul Ryan: Planned Parenthood is to blame for the world’s evils and economic problems.

Romney-Ryan will end Medicare as we know it.

The rich will get richer.

The poor will get poorer, or worse, die without health care.

Show me, where will the bipartisanship come from exactly, when there’s nothing to work with except for Tea Party mentality?

With Paul Ryan at his side — Congressman Ryan, the most divisive member of Congress who betrayed America on the eve of Obama’s inauguration, Mitt Romney has the balls to blame the President for our dysfunctional Congress.

Vote Wisely.
